Khanya Mkangisa’s Top Trends

by Keletso Modisakeng

Actress and presenter Khanya shares her top 8 must-know beauty facts.

Defined eyebrows are a timeless trend that people should always apply. Size may differ from time to time, but the current must-do is the full brows.

I am not one for eyeshadow because it can easily go wrong. However, the best trick is to play with natural shades and add a bit of shimmer for an evening event.

Dear girls, let the bright lipstick shades be your best friend. A bright lip can be paired with mascara or a clean face and your look will be complete.

The hardest beauty find for me was a nude lip. Fortunately, I found it. However, before that I used shades that were too light, which gave me the “hungry look”, or too dark, giving me the brown 90s lip.

A bright pink lipstick is as trendy as a red lip BUT you need to find your perfect match. Never be afraid to ask for assistance when buying a new colour because what works for your friend won’t work for you.

I don’t follow hair trends, but I think every black girl has their seasonal style. Protective styles like braids and weaves are great for the cold months because they keep your hair moist underneath and help it grow.

I love the bob hairstyle; a bob with colour and a different shape. However, I don’t think that would work for me.

The bright hair colour trend is a great hit this season but it is high maintenance. You can’t have a “dress down” look without looking bad. You always have to have the hair done well and styled.
