Boiled Chicken With Vegetables

Ingredients
  • 1 full chicken
  • 2 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, cut into quarters
  • 1 head garlic, halved
  • 2 bay leaves, roughly chopped
  • 2 strings fresh coriander
  • 2 strings fresh thyme
  • 3 litres water
  • 1 tbsp (10ml) lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
Instructions
  1. Put chicken, vegetables, water and lemon juice in a large saucepan, cover with lid and cook for 2–3 hours.
  2. Remove vegetables. Serve with steamed bread.
