KEY FACTS – SANSUI SUMMER CUP
- The SANSUI Summer Cup is considered Johannesburg’s premier equestrian and fashion event and proudly hosted by Gauteng
- It boasts an esteemed legacy of thoroughbred horse racing in Johannesburg which began in 1887 making the event 127 years old
- With a total of 12 races taking place during the day and early evening, the exhilarating main event features top thoroughbreds challenging one another over 2,000metres for a staggering stake of R2 million
- SANSUI Summer Cup takes place at the Turffontein Racecourse on Saturday, 29 November 2014
- The 2014 theme for the SANSUI Summer Cup is Hats Off – a celebration of Gauteng and the people who drive the province. Step up and take your place in the sun in one of fashion’s most glamorous accessories.
- Both Ladies and Gentlemen are required to dress in a manner appropriate to a day at the races. Smart dress is mandatory for this elegant occasion. Gentlemen should wear a suit or jacket and ladies are encouraged to wear a hat.
