With spring comes new things and etv is bringing us brand new local shows. The channel whisked us away to Leopard lodge in Hartbeespoort this past Saturday to announce the new shows.

New dramedy (drama and comedy) uSkroef noSexy
uSkroef noSexy is a light-hearted and quirky story of two best friends who have dreams to move up in life. Challenged by the human condition that commands men to be men, they build a garage like Noah built an ark, hoping to make something as big of themselves as Steve Jobs. uSkroef noSexy soon realise that building a garage as a means to be tender-preneurs is no easy way to join the South African Dream. Produced by Uzanenkosi, the show will play on Thursday, 6 November 2014 at 9PM on eKasi+, channel 105 on OpenView HD and on Monday, 10 November on e.tv.
Songololo – New groundbreaking sitcom from the Eastern Cape
eKasi+ introduces a brand new sitcom, Songololo, a ground breaking production exclusively produced in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Songololo is based on the story of two brothers who come up with elaborate schemes in order to fulfill a promise they made to their grandfather: to become millionaires. The 13 part series starts on Wednesday, 15 October at 9PM on eKasi+, Channel 105 on OpenView HD.
Soweto to Favela, a tale of two townships Ocean’s apart
Two communities, two continents and two journeys; Soweto to Favela is a journey of discovery and exploration. Phillip Malepa and Sidney Tartaruga leave behind the comfort and familiarity of their respective townships to discover how others in similar spaces live across the seas. Phillip makes his journey to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and Sydney travels to Soweto, South Africa. Watch what transpires when the show premieres on Friday, 17 October at 7PM on eKasi+, channel 105 on OpenView HD.
Spina Guluva
Spina Guluva is a 13 part magazine documentary on the old age street culture of spinning cars, brand new on eKasi+ channel 105 on OpenView HD. Car spinning used to be synonymous with car theft and township gangsterism in the ‘90s. The stereotype is that drag racing and spinning stolen gusheshes (BMW 3 series) was commonly used to show respect at funerals of gangsters. The show is presented by actress, dancer, choreographer, singer and businesswoman Khabonina Qubheka (big ups to etv for choosing Khabonina for this role, we can’t think of anyone more suitable)
