Presented on 25 October 2026, the collection marks a significant moment for the luxury fashion house, introducing a dedicated range of couture-inspired bridal gowns alongside its latest seasonal designs.
Through the collection, Gert explores the relationship between memory and reality, identity and perception, translating personal experiences into garments that combine sculptural shapes, flowing fabrics and intricate embellishments.
A collection inspired by childhood memories
At the heart of Reflections is a nostalgic memory of Gert growing up on a farm, where he would spend quiet moments beside a pond observing the movement of water and the interplay of light.
Away from the demands of everyday life, the pond offered the young designer a space for solitude and imagination. Looking at his reflection in the water, he could hardly have imagined how his life and the world around him would eventually change.
The collection revisits that formative experience, inviting audiences to reflect on how people evolve while remaining connected to their beginnings.
“Sometimes, to discover who we are, we must return to where we began,” the show’s notes state.
The concept serves as the foundation for a collection that examines the relationship between the people we once were and the individuals we become.

Liquid fabrics meet sculptural designs
The Reflections collection brings its central theme to life through a combination of fluid textiles, organic sculptural forms, textured outerwear and intricate embellishments.
The designs explore contrasting elements, balancing structured tailoring with softer, flowing movement. This interplay reflects the collection’s central idea of duality, where strength and vulnerability exist alongside one another.
The use of texture and form also draws on visual qualities of water, particularly its ability to mirror what is visible on the surface while concealing greater depth beneath.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the collection, Gert said: “This collection returns to the simplicity of where my imagination first took shape.”
He added that the designs translate the duality of water into fashion by combining bold structural tailoring with organic movement.
“With Reflections, we translate that duality into garment design – balancing strength with vulnerability, and bold structural tailoring with organic, flowing movement,” the designer explained.

Gert-Johan Coetzee expands into bridal couture
Beyond presenting the Autumn-Winter 2027 collection, the runway showcase marked another milestone for the fashion house with the launch of its dedicated couture-inspired bridal gown range.
The move expands the brand’s presence in luxury wedding wear, bringing its established approach to couture craftsmanship and detailed design into the bridal market.
For Gert, the introduction of the bridal line alongside Reflections represents a natural progression for the fashion house.
“Introducing our dedicated bridal line alongside this collection feels like a natural evolution, bringing couture artistry and emotional depth into the bridal space,” he said.
The bridal range adds a new dimension to the brand’s offering, creating space for designs that combine couture-inspired artistry with the personal significance of weddings.

Fashion as a reflection of identity
With Reflections, Gert presents more than a seasonal collection. The designs draw on personal history to explore how memory, experience and time shape identity.
The pond that once offered a young boy a quiet place to dream has become the inspiration for a collection presented on one of South Africa’s prominent fashion platforms.
By revisiting those early memories while introducing a new bridal offering, the designer brings together his personal creative journey and the evolving direction of his luxury fashion house.
The Autumn-Winter 2027 collection ultimately asks audiences to consider how much changes over time – and what remains beneath the surface.
