The learners started on 13 October and will conclude on 26 November 2026.

“We are rooting for you”

In a video message with the Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, the beauty queen shared a beautiful message of support and acknowledgement for all the matriculants writing their final exams.

This is a huge moment for every high school scholar, and both the Minister and Miss South Africa acknowledge it. Gwarube described this exam period as “the most important exams they have ever taken in their life.”

Mazaleni acknowledges that matriculants are almost at the finish line and that they shouldn’t be afraid to engage with the resources around them for help.

“You’ve got communities supporting you; please don’t be afraid to lean on them. We are entirely supporting you. We cannot wait to see what you will do. We are rooting for you, and just so you know, the resources are out there, so if you are struggling with anything, reach out to someone,” she shared.

The message is clear: the country is in support of all matriculants, and resources are available.

“You made it”

Even through the reiteration and stern message of support, reminding matriculants to ask for help where they feel they need it. Mazaleni shared in her caption:

“Myself with the ever-inspiring Minister of Basic Education, Hon. Siviwe Gwarube,  want to take a moment to appreciate and honour just how far you have come,” she wrote.

She further reflected on the hard and long 12 years spent to get to this point:

“Years of early mornings, late evenings, exams, lessons and memories.”

Beaming with pride for the matric class of 2026, one message stays clear:

“We are rooting for you!”
