Thabo Smol eyes the Grammys

News broke on 11 October 2026 that the musician is up for Grammy consideration for his latest album.

IOL reports that for the producer, the album represents more than a new chapter in his career; rather, it is an opportunity to reconnect with his roots and introduce listeners to the person behind the drums.

The album is described as his most personal musical expression, shaped by his pain, purpose, and spirituality.

Sold out, sold out, sold out

In light of the milestone, his scheduled show at the Untitled Basement in Braamfontein has been announced as sold out.

“It is safe to say that 2026 has been Thabo Smol’s year. His patient yet commanding takeover of the alternative music scene, allowing the music to do the talking, is a masterclass in artistic reinvention,” Untitled Basement wrote.

Excited for what the artist will offer in this performance, Untitled Basement shared that guests can expect something they have never experienced before.
