The DHL Stormers are making Saturday’s clash against the Hollywoodbets Sharks about more than what happens on the rugby field.

The Vodacom United Rugby Championship (URC) derby at DHL Stadium on Saturday, 10 October 2026, is being billed as a full-day experience, with gates opening at 13h00 ahead of the 16h00 kick-off.
With the Stormers and Sharks both expected to feature plenty of Springbok talent, there is already plenty to look forward to on the field. But supporters arriving early will find a stadium packed with food, music, entertainment and activities.
There will also be a nostalgic touch when the Stormers take the field. The team will wear its new black away kit, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1999 Men in Black campaign.
A match day with a Cape Town feel
The Stormers’ ‘Beyond 80 minutes’ concept is aimed at making match day feel like an occasion from the moment supporters arrive. Food trucks, bars, kids’ activities and various activations will be available around the stadium before kick-off.
Music will also play a major role, with performances celebrating different parts of Cape Town.
The line-up includes Ikamva Marimba Band, Isibane se Afrika and 7 Steps Minstrels, bringing everything from marimba and choir performances to the energy associated with the Cape Minstrels.

Fans can meet the players before kick-off
Supporters will also get an opportunity to meet some of their Stormers favourites before the match.
A player signing session will take place outside the merchandise store near Block 117 from 14:15 to 15:00. Fans can also catch some rugby before the main event, with the Lions vs Bulls URC derby set to be shown live on the stadium’s big screens.
Then, shortly before kick-off, Red Bull will stage a special performance.
Arriving early could pay off for supporters. Anyone who scans into the stadium using the Stormers App before 14:00 will automatically enter a draw to win either beer for a year or R5,000 in cash from Castle Lager.
During the game, fans should also keep an eye on the big screen. Fan cameras will be moving through the crowd, with supporters caught on camera standing a chance to win prizes. So, if you find yourself on the big screen, bring the energy!

The players aren’t leaving straight after the final whistle
The experience will continue after the rugby has ended.
The Stormers squad is expected to remain on the pitch for 30 minutes after the final whistle, giving supporters the chance to meet the players and get a little closer to the team.
With tickets starting at R90, Saturday’s derby offers plenty for supporters beyond the match itself.
For the Stormers, “Beyond 80 minutes” is about making the trip to DHL Stadium part of the memory, not simply the rugby played once the whistle blows.
