Dineo and Solo Langa to host Netflix’s ‘Love Is Blind: South Africa’

Netflix South Africa has officially revealed actress Dineo Langa and her husband, rapper Zothile ‘Solo Ntsizwa’ Langa, as the hosts of the country’s first season of Love Is Blind: South Africa.

The announcement forms part of Netflix’s celebration of 10 years in South Africa, with the streaming giant unveiling a slate of local productions at an event in Johannesburg.

The South African adaptation of the hit international dating reality show is produced by afrOkaans and is scheduled to premiere later in 2026.

Dineo Langa and Solo bring their real-life love story to Netflix

The choice of Dineo and Solo is likely to appeal to viewers because the couple has built a public profile around their own relationship.

The pair, who have been together for years and married in 2019, will now take on the role of guiding singles through one of reality television’s most unusual dating experiments.

Their real-life experience as a married couple could give them a unique perspective as they watch contestants navigate the highs and lows of finding love without seeing each other initially.

How will Love Is Blind: South Africa work?

The South African version will follow the format made famous by the global Love Is Blind franchise.

Singles will enter specially designed soundproof pods where they can speak to potential partners without seeing them. The idea is to form an emotional connection before physical attraction enters the equation.

Those who believe they have found their match can propose without ever having met face-to-face.

After the proposal, couples finally meet in person and begin testing whether their emotional connection can survive the realities of a relationship. Netflix says the South African version will see couples move in together, plan their weddings and face outside pressures before deciding whether to make it to the altar.

Fans excited for Mzansi’s first season

The announcement has already generated excitement among South African viewers, particularly because the hosts are a married local entertainment couple.

Before the official announcement, fans had been speculating about which South African couple could take on the hosting role, with Dineo and Solo among the names frequently mentioned.

There was also plenty of online debate about how South African accents and language could add another layer to the show’s blind-dating concept, particularly as contestants try to figure out more about each other’s backgrounds without seeing one another.

With the first season arriving later this year, viewers can expect the local adaptation to bring the global show’s emotional experiment into a distinctly South African setting.
