After weeks of recovery and bed rest following health complications, Lamiez Holworthy, DJ and Metro FM radio host, is back on the radio with a different perspective.
Lamiez took to social media in August 2026 to share her testimony and experience of being rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after an ovarian cyst burst.

Lamiez Holworthy returns to radio
The BONA September/October 2026 issue cover star made her return on the radio this weekend. During her show, she recounted her experience and shared how her love for music has deepened.
She stated that during that period of rest, the very thing that would usually provide her comfort and joy simply couldn’t. Even when fellow DJs would share music updates with her, she didn’t have the usual lust to listen.
However, it was from being away from music that she gained a renewed appreciation for her passions and is now back to doing what she loves the most: music and entertaining her listeners.

The social media post that opened a relevant conversation
Lamiez posted a video updating her fans on her recovery, her hospital experience, and the importance of rest and taking care of her health. Even in pain, she opened up a safe space for many women to share their struggles with ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and other female-related health complications.
Both in her caption and her video, she shared a very detailed story about her health complications and how she ended up in emergency surgery on Women’s Day. Appreciating the irony, she added that at a time when she wanted to celebrate women, she was forced to remember that not only is she a woman but a human being too.
Her comment section under the video was flooded with women sharing their own experiences with ovarian cysts, fibroids, and endometriosis.

Her reaction to other women’s experiences with PCOS
Lamiez shared a video on her TikTok page, stating how the women’s testimonies under her health update post warmed her heart.
On Instagram, the media personality, seemingly comforted by the other women’s stories, showed her love and her appreciation:
“I don’t know what to say. I didn’t realise just how many other women are going through the same or even worse. I’m so glad you ladies feel safe enough to share your stories with me.
“This is another side of social media that I appreciate, the one where we can be vulnerable and speak about our shared experiences. The side where we can all just be normal and find ways to heal together.”
