Golden Arrows (Abafana Bes’thende) pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season on Sunday, 23 August 2026, defeating reigning Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns 1–0 on home soil at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.
The single-goal victory in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final tie leaves the Brazilian heavyweights with a steep hill to climb as they aim to reach the final of the prestigious cup competition.
