A memorable night at the SAMAs
The 2026 South African Music Awards, officially known as SAMA32, took place on Saturday, 15 August, at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West. The ceremony was billed as the “Homecoming Edition,” marking the SAMAs’ return to Sun City after previous editions were held elsewhere.
Bala is no stranger to the awards. He has previously graced the stage at the prestigious ceremony on multiple occasions over the years.

Celebrating family and legacy
The latest milestone comes during an important period in Bala’s career. Earlier this year, he announced his departure from the SABC after five years as business manager of Umhlobo Wenene FM and TruFM, while continuing to pursue music and creative projects.
