Fans emotional after Oscar Mbo lays his mom to rest on Mother’s Day

It was a not-so-pleasant Mother’s Day for DJ and producer Oscar Mbo, who shared that he laid his mother to rest on Sunday, 10 May 2026.

While many celebrated the day with their moms, Oscar and his family said their final goodbyes. Despite the grief, the Yes God hitmaker also shared a tender moment with his son, posting a video of the them getting dressed together and sharing quiet smiles before the funeral.

“Laying our Queen to rest on Mother’s Day.’ together through thick & thin, the Lord shall provide,” he captioned.

The post left many fans, followers and friends emotional. Many took to the comments to share messages of love and support.

In a heartfelt moment, another user shared: “This happened to me and my siblings 2 years ago we laid our mother on Mother’s Day. Condolences to you brother”.

“Our prayers are with you brother,” commented media personality and social entrepreneur TT Mbha.

“Strength to you and the family,” added another internet user.

Oscar has always kept his family life private. But he’s spoken before about his upbringing and how his mom kept him grounded as his career exploded. He also publicly celebrated her in 2024 by gifting her a brand new vehicle.
