Any travel itinerary must be well-constructed, with exact details of what you will be doing during your travels and where.

By having a clear itinerary, your travels will stay organised and you’ll avoid missing out on any must-see adventures. To ensure a stress-free time and to manage your spending effectively, creating an itinerary is essential as it can ensure that everything is in order.

Define your travel priorities

Define the travel priorities and things you want to do before diving into specific activities. Ask yourself whether you want to experience wildlife encounters, immerse yourself in a culture, go on adventures that will get your heart racing, or take a relaxing beach vacation.

Be flexible

Although it is essential to have a plan, it is also important to be flexible. Exciting detours could be the result of an unanticipated wildlife sighting. Weather changes happen, so expect such and be willing to be flexible.

Factor in travel time

Travelling to destinations and various activities may take up much of your time. South Africa is a country where distances can be misleading. When travelling to different places, consider this and expect delays where possible, as things can’t always be in control. Be realistic with your itinerary.

Embrace the local experiences

In addition to popular tourist destinations, seek authentic experiences. However, whatever you choose to do, it is essential to have a guide for safety.

Respect wildlife and the environment

When it comes to wildlife viewing and responsible tourism practices, always follow the instructions of your guide, as wildlife can be unpredictable.
