The Easter weekend is all about spending time together as a family. However, it can sometimes be challenging to develop new and creative ideas to entertain the family throughout the entire long weekend.

Since it is a time when everyone comes together to enjoy and participate in fun activities and crafts, the activities need to be fun and inclusive for children so that they don’t get bored. If you’re looking for some ideas on how to celebrate Easter with your family, look no further!

As reported by the Cape Argus, these are some of the activities to opt for;

DIY Easter egg hunt

This is a classic for Easter egg hunting. Parents can transform their homes and gardens into mini adventure zones, complete with clues, treasure maps, and themed challenges to ensure that children can enjoy themselves.

Easter baking

Preparing for Easter can be fun too; it is about spending time together and baking together as a family, which is a great way to bond. Encourage your children to assist in the kitchen by mixing batter, decorating cupcakes, or reading out the ingredients. This way, your Easter baking can be quicker and enjoyed by the entire family.

Picnic in the park

With good weather expected in most parts of the country, why not skip the traditional braai at home and pack a picnic basket and head out to the nearest park with the family?

This is an excellent opportunity for family sports, contests and even your elaborate Easter egg hunt.

Decorate eggs for Easter

In preparation for the Easter egg hunt, you can round the family together with some hard-boiled eggs, paints and paintbrushes to decorate eggs for the Easter egg hunt.

Decorating eggs is one of the oldest Easter traditions across the world. Apart from Easter egg painting, it is also a great way to spend time together as a family. It also makes it easier for your children to find the eggs if they are part of the egg decorations.
