Shebeshxt wins 2 Thobela FM Sepedi Awards while behind bars

Controversial rapper Katlego Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, made a strong showing at the Thobela FM Sepedi Music Awards while behind bars.

This is after the Lekompo artist clinched two awards for Best Male Lekompo Artist of the Year and his song Rato Laka featuring Zee Nxumalo, Naqua SA and Slido Man bagged the Song of the Year Award.

Music lovers and supporters gathered at Meropa Casino, Polokwane as the artists were being recognised for working tirelessly in the music industry. The Ke Di Shxt Malome rapper’s awards were accepted by the chairperson of Limpopo Artist Movement (LAM), Mphoza Mashabela in his absence.

Limpopo Music SA took to their Facebook page to share a picture of Shebe’s wife celebrating his award win.

The Ambulance rapper is currently behind bars, facing multiple charges which include assault, attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm, following a shooting incident in Polokwane, which led to his arrest in November 2025.

As reported by Daily Sun, Mphoza said: “We are grateful for the support. People have voted and we appreciate that. We hope fans will continue showing the same energy at the Metro FM Music Awards where Shebe is nominated.”
