Natasha Vermaak marks final weeks of pregnancy with heartfelt maternity shoot

Natasha Vermaak marks final weeks of pregnancy with heartfelt maternity shoot

There’s something about the final stretch of pregnancy that feels suspended in time — a mix of anticipation, reflection and quiet gratitude.

Former Miss SA Natasha Vermaak is living in exactly that space right now.

With just weeks to go before welcoming her baby girl, the 28-year-old media personality shared a series of breathtaking maternity photos on Instagram and with them, a deeply personal letter to her unborn daughter.

“You are my first hello to motherhood”

In her caption, Vermaak addressed her little girl directly, calling her “my first hello to motherhood.” It’s a simple line, but one that carries weight. For any first-time mom, the transition isn’t just about welcoming a baby — it’s about stepping into a completely new identity.

She promised to be her daughter’s “safe place” and “loudest cheerleader,” adding that becoming a mother has made her feel softer and stronger at the same time.

“You are already my greatest honour,” she wrote — words that quickly resonated with her followers.

The comment section filled up within hours. Fans described the shoot as “glowing,” “graceful,” and “pure love.” Others shared how her letter brought them to tears, especially those who are mothers themselves.

Soaking up the waiting game

Just days before the maternity shoot, Vermaak posted another intimate update: a montage of moments from her pregnancy journey, including a video capturing her baby kicking.

“So the waiting game begins. A few weeks left,” she wrote.

It’s a relatable sentiment. In South Africa, pregnancy announcements often turn into community experiences — family WhatsApp groups buzzing, aunties counting down, friends planning baby showers months in advance. Vermaak’s openness has made her journey feel communal, too.

She first announced her pregnancy in October and revealed she was expecting a girl in November alongside her husband, Enrico Vermaak. The news was met with an outpouring of congratulations from fans and fellow public figures alike.

A journey shared openly

Unlike some public figures who keep pregnancy private, Vermaak has invited her audience along for the ride.

From elegant photoshoots to a star-studded baby shower, she hasn’t shied away from celebrating the milestone. But she’s also shared raw, emotional moments — including her reaction to finding out she was pregnant.

After tying the knot, she knew she wanted to start a family. True to her personality, she admitted that when she plans for something, she goes “all in.” Still, as many women know, conception can be unpredictable. That vulnerability made her eventual announcement feel even more meaningful.

In a country where conversations around fertility are sometimes whispered rather than spoken openly, her honesty has struck a chord.

More than just pretty pictures

It would be easy to focus solely on the aesthetics of the maternity shoot — flowing fabrics, soft lighting, that unmistakable pregnancy glow. But what stands out most is the intention behind it.

This isn’t just about documenting a baby bump. It’s about marking a transition — from wife to mother, from public figure to protector of a tiny new life.

South African audiences have watched Vermaak grow from beauty queen to media personality. Now, they’re watching her prepare for her next role — one that doesn’t come with rehearsals or scripts.

Motherhood, after all, is the ultimate unscripted chapter.

As the countdown continues, one thing is clear: Natasha Vermaak isn’t just waiting for her daughter’s arrival. She’s already embracing the transformation that comes with it, heart wide open.
