The multi-award-winning beloved Maskandi duo Shwi noMtekhala have made peace with one another, and are pleading for a second chance from Mzansi.
Shwi, whose real name is Mandlakhe Xaba and Mtekhala, born as Zwelenduna Magubane, performed together on February 21 for their first time after their fall out.
The Ngafa hitmakers separated in 2022 after working together for 22-years. Their split was over contracts and royalties. Shwi noMtekhala’s then manager, Bongani Manyathi, confirmed that they missed 11 gigs with a value of R200,000 since December in 2022 because of the infighting.

Scrolla Africa reported then that Mtekhaka voiced out that he was not happy because Bongani made a deal with Sginci media online during lockdown.
Recently, Shwi told Daily Sun that it is all water under the bridge, and they are working on a new album set to be released before the Easter holidays.
“The Shwi noMtekhala is finally back now, but we will continue with our solo projects, and Shwi noMtekhala will remain as headquarters. We are asking music lovers to give us a second chance like before and we will not disappoint them,” he said.

Mtekhala also told the publication that he is grateful the duo is back.
“We appreciate the support we are getting from music lovers and ask for a second chance, because we have ironed out our differences and reunited. We ask music lovers to support us as a duo, and we also ask music lovers to support us in our solo projects. We have learnt our mistake,” he said.
