Ashley Ogle welcomes baby boy on Valentine’s Day amid Sweet Guluva speculation

by Zaghrah Anthony

Ashley Ogle’s Valentine’s Day comes with a surprise

While many South Africans spent Valentine’s Day exchanging roses, chocolates, and couple selfies, Ashley Ogle chose a very different route. The former “Big Brother Mzansi” star announced the birth of her baby boy in a heartfelt Instagram post dedicated to her “forever Valentine,” leaving fans both emotional and curious.

“Happy Valentine’s to my forever Valentine. It’s just been you and I against the world, playing hide and go seek. We’re hiding, and everyone seeks. Looks like they found us and now we’re ‘IT’. Let’s go seeking, shall we? I love you forever, Kenzo-Lu,” she wrote, sharing the first glimpse into her new chapter as a mother.

Fans buzzing over Sweet Guluva speculation

The post ignited a flurry of social media reactions. While many congratulated Ashley on her bundle of joy, curiosity over the baby’s father quickly became the main topic.

Some fans speculated the child might be linked to her former Big Brother Mzansi housemate and ex, Sweet Guluva, though neither Ashley nor Sweet has confirmed anything publicly. On X (formerly Twitter), one fan wrote, “I’d be disappointed if Sweet Guluva is a deadbeat. Who is Ashley’s baby daddy? Congratulations to her. Why, athi ‘it’s just the two of us’.”

Their romance began inside the Big Brother house, becoming one of the most talked-about relationships of the fifth season. After Ashley’s eviction, the couple tried to continue their relationship outside, but it eventually ended. Ashley later revealed on Lasizwe Dambuza’s YouTube show, “Drink or Tell The Truth,” that the breakup was initiated by Guluva, leaving her little choice but to accept it.

She also spoke candidly about the challenges of loving someone on reality TV versus the person they are off-camera, noting that while she had feelings for Sweet Guluva, connecting with him in real life proved difficult.

A private pregnancy, a public celebration

Despite past heartbreak and public curiosity, Ashley has continued to enjoy strong fan support. Her followers have been generous, surprising her with luxury gifts and cash contributions—most recently contributing R50,000 for her baby, split between a R30,000 piggy bank and R20,000 trust fund showcased at the baby shower.

Ashley explained why she kept her pregnancy private for so long: it was a strategic choice to protect her career. “People tend to see pregnant people as weak, and I didn’t want to stop getting my brand deals, obviously, I needed them,” she said. She emphasized that while her pregnancy was deeply personal, she wasn’t obligated to share every detail with the public, especially while securing her financial and professional stability.

The interviewer: Who’s your baby daddy?

A new chapter begins

Valentine’s Day 2026 will certainly be remembered by Ashley Ogle—not for flowers or chocolates, but for welcoming a new life into the world. With her fans rallying behind her and social media buzzing with excitement, this is a reminder that sometimes the most heartfelt love stories aren’t the ones we see on TV, but the private ones that grow in real life.
