Internet users have taken time to remember MultiChoice’s beloved security officer, David Sejobe, who passed away after he was allegedly hit by a car while riding his bicycle.
David worked as a front-house security officer at MultiChoice’s Randburg headquarters since 2015. He was popular for his warm greetings that uplifted employees and visitors. Many described him as a friendly and bubbly man.
He gained popularity in 2022, after he cycled a 600-kilometer charity journey in honour of his late father. His passing has affected many, resulting in public figures such as Anele Mdoda and Tumi Sole pouring words of condolences to his family.
MultiChoice also issued a statement confirming his passing.
“MultiChoice confirms with deep sadness the passing of our colleague, David Sejobe, a valued member of the MultiChoice team who served as a front house security officer at our Randburg head office,” read the statement.
The organisation remembered David as a professional worker who had warmth and a positive spirit.
“He was widely known for his professionalism, warmth and positive spirit, and for the genuine care with which he greeted and assisted everyone who came through our doors. For many, Davidβs friendly greetings and daily interactions along Bram Fischer Drive became a welcome and uplifting part of the day. He represented the values of respect, kindness and human connection, and his contribution extended well beyond his formal role,” they said.
MultiChoice also revealed that David led a healthy lifestyle to manage his health.
“He cycled to work everyday and was an avid long-distance cyclist who used sport to manage his health and inspire others. He drew public attention for undertaking a long-distance charity ride from Johannesburg to Venda in honour of his late father, and he participated in several major cycling events. His story motivated many people and reflected his determination, discipline and love of life.
“David will be remembered for his optimism, generosity of spirit and the lasting impression he made on colleagues, guests and the broader community,” added MultiChoice.
