As the matric dance  fever is slowly fading away, and matriculants are now focusing on their final exams,  we shine the light on celebrities who shared their moments with their children in preparation for the special night on social media platforms.

A matric dance is a formal, celebratory event for high school seniors in South Africa that marks the end of their final year. Students dress in formal attire like gowns and suits to attend a dinner, dance, and other festivities, often with themes and elaborate decorations. It is also considered a rite of passage and a final chance to celebrate the closing of their school chapter with friends and family.

Here are some of the celebrities who celebrated their children’s matric dances this year.

Lerato Mvelase

The former Isibaya actress went all out for her eldest daughter’s matric dance. Lerato shared the preparation process, from make up to dressing up in her pink and gold gown. She also shared a glimpse of her luxury ride from Luxury Chauffeur Services.

Nomsa Buthelezi-Shezi

The Gomora Diva shared that the inspiration behind her daughter’s successful matric dance was because she could not attend her own due to not being able to afford it growing up.

Nomsa’s daughter was driven in style by her co-star on Black Gold, Warren Masemola. Lindi rocked a silver gown by Lebohang M Mzobe.
