Anele Mdoda reacts to Milnerton High bullying incident

by Staff Bona

Media personality and talented broadcaster Anele Mdoda has shared her thoughts on the Milnerton High bullying incident.

This comes after a disturbing video of senior rugby players allegedly assaulting a Grade 10 learner at a high school in Cape Town went viral online.

As a passionate and protective mother, Anele expressed that she would have taken extreme measures had she been in the position of the victim’s mother.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, she wrote, “I would be in jail if that was my kid from Milnerton school. I would be in jail”.

Her comment on how she would’ve reacted sparked a variety of opinions online.

Some supported Anele Mdoda’s views, while others criticised her response, claiming it was unjust to the victim’s parent.

Additionally, some individuals shared their own experiences with similar incidents and discussed how they have handled such situations and the progress they’ve made.

Anele is known to have a close and healthy relationship with her son, Alakhe. In August, the proud and loving mother surprised her son with a cricket-themed birthday party when she booked out the iconic Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg in celebration of his 10th birthday.

The seasoned broadcaster is not the only one in the limelight to speak out against this bullying incident. Individuals such as Siv Ngesi also took to their social media platforms to weigh in, raise awareness and condemn bullying.
