National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the raid was “part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that have emanated out of the parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee and the Madlanga Commission.”
Brown, who has previously been mentioned during the commission’s proceedings, told eNCA he now fears for his life.
“Remember, I am going to the Madlanga Commission; a lot is coming. Kuzokhala amadoda [men will cry],” he said in an interview with Newzroom Afrika, adding that he would explain why he informed Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala about the disbandment letter of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
The businessman’s name has surfaced in connection with suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and alleged criminal syndicates in Gauteng.
During his earlier testimony, Senzo confirmed knowing Brown but denied ever discussing the disbandment of the PKTT with him.
Brown, when questioned about leaked messages purportedly exchanged with Vusimuzi, retorted, “You are eNCA … you are not the Madlanga Commission,” dismissing the broadcaster’s line of questioning about the authenticity of the messages.
The investigation continues as the Madlanga Commission and parliamentary committee probe alleged links between senior police officials, politicians, and criminal networks.
