Miss SA 2025: Nine Finalists Poised for the Crown as Fans Await Presenter Announcement

by Zaghrah Anthony

The excitement is palpable in Mzansi as the countdown to Miss SA 2025 reaches its final days. With only a week to go until the grand finale, fans are buzzing—not just about who will take the crown, but also about one conspicuously missing piece: this year’s presenter.

Since Bonang Matheba’s last appearance, speculation about who would host the finale has dominated social media. The organisation, however, has kept fans in suspense, refusing to reveal the host even as ticket sales and the schedule have been confirmed.

“It’s been a year of change, and the suspense is part of the excitement,” said a pageant insider. “Fans know something spectacular is coming, and anticipation is building.”

Nine Finalists, One Crown

The organisation announced on Saturday, October 11, that nine finalists will battle it out in what promises to be a night of glamour, inspiration, and transformation. Each contestant has committed to driving positive change in South African communities through initiatives focusing on job creation, education, health, civic engagement, and Pan-African collaboration under the Empower Youth Africa movement.

Notably, the competition saw former contestant Lebohang Msimanga from KwaZulu-Natal withdraw, prioritising her personal path and well-being. This left only the top nine finalists to compete for the coveted crown.

Pageant Reinvented: New Leadership and Format

This year’s Miss SA pageant is entering a new era, led by the Motsepe company, bringing fresh energy and changes to the show. Highlights include:

  • A Top 10 format that shaped the lead-up to the finale.

  • A broadcast shift to Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161).

  • Controversies addressed and cleared, including the case of Bridgett Jones, who faced bullying accusations from a former colleague, ultimately dismissed after investigation confirmed the claims were unfounded.

One unfortunate change is South Africa’s absence from Miss Universe 2025, caused by the pageant’s adjusted timeline, which left insufficient time to prepare the incoming queen for international competition.

Social Media Buzz

Fans have taken to Twitter and Instagram, sharing theories about who will host the grand finale. Many hope for a celebrity presenter who can match the pageant’s glamour, while others are more focused on the contestants themselves, praising the finalists’ dedication to community impact.

“This year, it’s not just about beauty—it’s about brains, heart, and purpose,” tweeted one fan. “Can’t wait to see who wears the crown!”

The Grand Finale Details

Mark your calendars: the Miss SA 2025 finale will be held at SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, October 25, at 7 PM. With the mix of new leadership, a fresh format, and nine talented finalists, Mzansi can expect a night to remember.

As the presenter mystery remains, the pageant continues to spark conversations nationwide—proving that in South Africa, the crown is about more than just a tiara; it’s about impact, inspiration, and a new era of possibility.
