The renowned businessman, Mandla Mthembu, has sadly passed away.

The news was revealed by his family, who in a statement confirmed that he had passed away in a New York hospital after suffering a stroke.

Mandla, a highly successful corporate, rose to fame following his romantic relationship with actress and television presenter Khanyi Mbau.

Elaborating more on the tragic news, the statement read:

“It is with profound sadness that we confirm the passing of Mr Mandla Elliot Mthembu, esteemed business mogul and long-standing member of the ANC. Mthembu was admitted to the hospital, where he suffered a second stroke. Despite the tireless efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to complications related to the stroke.”

The statement continued, “Throughout his life, Mthembu was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, his contributions to SA’s business landscape, and his commitment to the values of the ANC.

“His legacy will be remembered by many across the country,” they said.

Mandla leaves behind six children , Melusi, Nelisiwe, Onentando, Ntando, Sibongile, as well as Khanukani, who he shared with Khanyi Mbau.

The pair are reported to have tied the knot in 2006. However, the marriage was short lived after several disagreements led to their divorce in 2009.

Meanwhile, the family have requested privacy during this time as they find a way to mourn the loss.

More information regarding his memorial service and funeral is expected to be communicated within the coming days.
