Vitamin C continues to be one of the most researched and celebrated ingredients in skincare, and for good reason. Fundamentals Skincare is spotlighting the essential role Vitamin C plays in brightening, protecting, and evening out skin tone, while also educating consumers on the different forms available.

“Vitamin C is a cornerstone ingredient in any routine that addresses dull skin, dark marks, and overall skin health,” says Natasha Davel, Brand Manager at Fundamentals Skincare. “But what many don’t realise is that the type of Vitamin C you choose can make all the difference in results and tolerance.”

At Fundamentals, there is a range of Vitamin C products to choose from that encompasses suitability to all skin types. Here are a few to consider:

1. 10% Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate [MAP]: This is a stable form of vitamin C that is readily absorbed by the skin. This Vitamin C is gentle on the skin while brightening and evening skin tone, reducing fine lines and protecting against sun damage. Use this serum to address uneven skin tone, anti-oxidant protection, reduce sun damage and address fine lines and wrinkles. Suitable for skin types, this serum is a true powerhouse and only found in this formulation at Fundamentals.

2. 5% Ascorbic Acid Serum: Sun and environmental triggers create free radicals which are damaging to your skin. Anti-oxidants minimise the harmful effects of free radicals. This Ascorbic Acid serum is the strongest and most abundant anti-oxidant in our skin and is the best ingredient for this job. Formulated with Ferulic Acid to stabilise the formulation, it is a water-serum and brightens dark spots, addresses uneven skin tone, targets sun damage and premature ageing. Suitable to Oily, Dry, Combination skin types.

3. 10% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate Oil Serum. This is a gentle yet effective Vitamin C that doesn’t irritate the skin but delivers powerful anti-oxidant protection, formulated in a deeply hydrating oil base. It provides anti-oxidant protection, fades uneven skin tone and provides a brighter complexion, radiant skin, anti-ageing benefits. Suitable for dry, sensitive and combination skin types.

4. 10% Vitamin C Toner: Suitable for all skin types, this toner targets dull and uneven skin tone, reduces dark spots, improves skin texture and radiance. Some of the powerhouse ingredients include 10% Vitamin C, 3% Niacinamide, 2% Aloe Vera and 1% Raspberry Extract making it safe during pregnancy as well.

5. 15% Vitamin C Serum: A water free L-Ascorbic Acid serum which is highly stable and won’t sting when applying. It provides strong Anti-oxidant protection, fades uneven skin, provides a brighter complexion, radiant skin and has anti-ageing properties.

Empowering your skincare choices

Whether choosing fast-acting Ascorbic Acid or the gentler, longer-lasting MAP, Vitamin C remains a non-negotiable in achieving brighter, healthier-looking skin.

“At Fundamentals Skincare, our mission is to provide formulations that combine efficacy with tolerance,” concludes Davel. “We want consumers to not only see results but also enjoy the process of taking care of their skin.”
