Norma Mngoma spills beans – internet reacts

Former finance minister, Malusi Gigaba’s efforts of seeking an interdict that would halt the airing of an Untied episode on Showmax, featuring his former wife, Norma Mngoma had many anticipating what she had to share.

As expected, Norma’s episode had viewers glued to their screens as she shared every detail of how her marriage fell apart. The infamous explicit video of former finance minister, “Imagine if this was in your mouth” joined the chat.

Norma told the host of Untied, Relebogile Mabotja that they were blackmailed for almost six months before the video was leaked in 2018.

“We were blackmailed, I think (for) almost six months. They were demanding money, I think it started from a million,” she said.

She recalled how the figure decreased from R1 million to R800 000.

“He was negotiating with some comrades about it. But for me, I didn’t know what was this video until the person called me because he (Malusi) didn’t tell me that time,” said Norma.

She also alleged that the person who was blackmailing them had first blackmailed her over the video, prompting her to speak to Malusi about it.

She revealed that after receiving the call from the blackmailer, Malusi lied to her and acted like it was their video; but she was confused because they had never done a sex tape together. Norma said that Malusi knew that it was his video alone, and he lied until the day it was released.

She also told Relebogile that Malusi’s divorce with his ex wife was finalised in 2014, and soon after they (Norma and Malusi) tied the knot. The wedding was held at the Durban Botanic Gardens, with costs of approximately R6 million to R7 million.

Furthermore, she expressed that while they were preparing for their marriage, Malusi would get blackmail calls from his mistresses.

“Others, they wanted him to cancel the wedding. ‘Then I’m gonna tell your wife this and that,’ it was just a lot. He made me believe that these things were not true and not existing.”

Norma said after years of being contacted by Malusi’s alleged girlfriends, she took the step of investigating his infidelity. She revealed that she searched his phone to see what she would find.

“I started checking his phone because when someone sent me a message, I wouldn’t go to him like I used to before,” she said.

To make matters look better, Malusi would suggest they go to therapy.

“And how this therapy will happen, maybe he will attend it two or three times. So we will go, and when we are there at the therapy, he’s acting like it’s his weakness, he doesn’t know how it happens. The third time he doesn’t wanna go; he says ‘no’, the therapist is personal,” she said.

Not Malusi telling Norma that the white therapist they went to was from DA and racist just because she didn’t agree to his shenanigans #UntiedShowmax pic.twitter.com/33c5q0NX2b

As much as I sympathise with her- the warning have always been there & she ignored all of them including from the ex wife! She was already a grown woman who could have walked away but the glamorous lifestyle & status was intoxicating & that’s a lot of ppls downfall #UntiedShowmax pic.twitter.com/X1qRpxQxqk
