The gospel giant who was known for his iconic phrase, “u-Amen usekhona?”ย passed away earlier this week at the age of 66, following a long illness.

His prominence, sermons and powerful voice touched people’s hearts, earning him loyal support both on air and in church settings.
Spiritual Feast by Dr SD and Joy Family Church both announced Dr SD’s death on Facebook. His church, Spiritual Feast, described him as a spiritual general, a compassionate leader and a prophetic voice.
“It is with deep sorrow and reverence that Spiritual Feast, a faith based organisation founded and led by Dr SD Gumbi, announces the passing of our beloved founder and spiritual father, Dr SD Gumbi who was called to glory on the evening of July 14, 2025,” read the statement.
