Miss SA Mia Le Roux announces engagement

Miss SA, Mia Le Roux, has officially shared the news of her engagement to long-time partner, Luke Tenoever. The announcement, made via a heartfelt Instagram post on 8 July, follows a quiet period in which the couple chose to enjoy their engagement in private before inviting the world in on their joy.

The post, captioned “Hello there FIANCÉ 💍 @luke_tenoever I cannot wait to become your wife 🤍”, included a series of styled portraits by photographer Garreth Barclay. Mia looked every bit the modern bride-to-be in her post.

In the caption, Mia shared an intimate glimpse into their relationship, describing the depth of Luke’s love, patience, and steadiness throughout the year. “From the way you hold space for me with calm and steadiness in life’s tough moments, to the way we lose ourselves in laughter over the silliest things,” she wrote. “My heart will choose you over and over again, even though you have to inspect your cricket kit for an hour first when I ask for a cup of coffee.”

It’s a sentiment that reflects what fans have grown to admire about Mia — her ability to balance humour and heart, always rooted in authenticity. The announcement was free of spectacle, instead offering a genuine, vulnerable reflection on what love means to her.

Whilst the couple has reveled in their engagement in private, their relationship has not been a secret. After Mia’s Miss SA win last year, she posted how Tenoever has supported her throughout her beauty queen journey.
