2025 has proven to not be Shauwn Mkhize’s best year as she has not only lost ownership of Royal AM FC, but has also been linked to several allegations of criminal charges. Adding insult to injury, the 40 illegal firearms discovered in her home last year have been linked to the infamous Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala.

With a mixture of incredible business success, a high-profile lifestyle, as well as a significant media presence, Shauwn Mkhize concocted a recipe for success that propelled her to become one of South Africa’s more successful and popular personalities.

As a public figure, Shauwn has garnered a sort of controversial reputation. Her career has been riddled with multiple encounters with the law, as she has been linked to several allegations of criminal activity.

After facing charges of tax evasion which subsequently led to the loss of her football club Royal AM, the popular businesswoman cannot seem to catch a break. She has recently been embroiled in a forgery scandal, where she is accused of faking her sister’s signature to purchase Royal AM football club, as well as to register multiple companies without consent.

Simultaneously, Police Portfolio Committee chairperson Ian Cameron has revealed that the cache of 40 firearms found during a raid at her La Lucia home was found to belong to the infamous Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala, who General Lieutenant Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has accused of having ties with Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

This recent revelation has expectedly garnered some reactions from the public, as tensions continue to rise among some of the country’s top government and law enforcement officials. With General Mkhwanazi linking Vusimuzi Matlala to Minister Senzo Mchunu, and Shauwn Mkhize entering the picture, South Africans are on edge, as they anxiously attempt to make sense of this predicament.

According to some users, this ordeal corroborates Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s accusations, and is a cause for concern as it is an indication of how deep corruption goes in the country.

Apparently the guns that were found at Mamkhize’s house belonged to the security company owned by ntate “KAT” who was mentioned by Gen Mkhwanazi. Kore the rot is too deep. 🙊🙊🙊 pic.twitter.com/0VlJ2VZ1NC
