Mzansi Magic to introduce ‘The Request’ soon

by Staff Bona
PICTURE: X/ THE REQUEST

Get ready Mzansi because your Friday nights are going to be your new destination! The Request is hitting the Mzansi Magic streets this August. No detours, no filters, just the real ride behind the e-hailing hustle!

Mzansi Magic promises a unique and riveting reality show where, for a change, Mzansi hears from the e-hailing drivers. This show will give Mzansi a chance to know more about the struggles that the driver goes through silently.

The Request takes you into the daily grind of e-hailing drivers across the country, the real heroes who move through the streets while carrying their own stories, struggles and dreams. It’s an unfiltered look at what goes down with each request – from wild passenger stories to the personal battles these brave men face while chasing that next request.

Channel Director Shirley Adonisi puts it best: “This is storytelling from the streets of Mzansi to showcase the reality of what some of the drivers go through. It pulls back the curtain on the lives and struggles of these drivers and their passengers. The Request is about seeing the human behind the app. It’s unpredictable, it’s powerful and it’s proudly South African.”

This is real-life, heartwarming, and realistic drama, straight from the driver’s seat. Think danger, deep chats, dodgy passengers and moments that’ll have you exclaiming “Yoh!” Every ride has a driver, and every driver has a story.

The Request will air from Friday, August o8 at 7 pm on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161). You’ve got the address. Now just accept the ride!
