Polygamist, reality TV star and KZN businessman Somkhanda Gumbi has declared wedding season far from over, as he recently concluded his nuptials with third wife Zama Duma, leading netizens to consider giving polygamy a shot.

Somkhanda Gumbi and his family came into Mzansi’s limelight when they were introduced to the country via their reality TV show The Gumbis, which quickly captured the hearts of South African viewers. Similarly to Musa Mseleku’s Uthando Nesthembu, Somkhanda’s show followed the polygamist and his wives, Bayede and Nombuso, alongside their children, as they attempt to navigate the complicated nature of polygamy.

When the show initially started, Somkhanda boasted two beautiful wives, with Bayede being the first, and Nombuso coming shortly before they shot season one. Fastforwarding to present day, Somkhanda and 22-year-old Zamalwandle Duma concluded the last of their wedding proceedings, making their union official before God and the law.

A definition of a man that keeps his promise 🥰🥰🥰

They met October and he said I’ll make you my wife, 3days after meeting he asked to contact parents and let them know he’ll marry her in December

After causing a buzz across social media platforms earlier this year, after their ‘umkhehlo’ ceremony took netizens by storm, the couple has done it again, as they recently held the final ceremony to officially become husband and wife.  Surprisingly, despite polygamy becoming a controversial topic among netizens, the couple garnered a positive response, as the public continues to highlight how the businessman has done right by all three of his wives.

Zama Duma, who is the newest addition to the Gumbi family, revealed via social media that her newly wedded husband had already built and completed her marital home, which she will be living in. According to the public, this, among other things, is commendable from Somkhanda and exemplifies what a healthy polygamous marriage looks like.

These users, who had previously expressed their concern and opposition to the concept of polygamy, have revealed that after seeing Somkhanda and Zama’s love story, they have switched sides and expressed an interest in pursuing or accepting it.

The only time a woman is comfortable with polygamy is when she’s in it for other reasons but love.
Abasajja mwefula nyo abategera naye mukyalabirira ddala abaana abatali bamwe.
You can’t have 2 or 3 or more wives and think they all love you. You’re dumb. No offense 🙌🏻

SomK has built the house he promised for Zama to move into today. Yeh maybe this polygamy lifestyle isn’t so bad after all 😅#zamaduma #gumbi
