During his highly anticipated media conference, Umkhonto We Sizwe Party (MKP) member Floyd Shivambu has shocked the nation by revealing that he believes that the EFF, his former allegiance is nothing but a cult, which has garnered an overwhelming response from the public.
Since his unexpected move from Julius Malema’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to Jacob Zuma’s newly established MKP, Floyd Shivambu’s every move has been under the close eye and scrutiny of the public.
From his announcement revealing he would be jumping ship from his close friend’s party, to join Msholozi’s side, to his quick ascension to MKP’s Secretary General(SG), all the way to his unexpected demotion from the position, to a mere member of parliament.
Recently, there has been chatter among the public regarding Floyd’s future, as some members of the public, both his supporters and foes, have expressed concern as to whether he will be an MKP member for much longer.
According to these individuals, Nyiko’s demotion from his SG position was merely the beginning of the end of his career in the MKP. Some of these users believe that the first mistake Floyd made was leaving the EFF, a party he helped build from the ground up.
In an effort to clear any misunderstanding and misconceptions, Floyd took to his social media to reveal that he would be hosting a media conference, which caused quite a stir, as users speculated what would be on the agenda during this meeting hosted by the former SG.
Some speculated that it would see him announcing the cancellation of his MKP membership, which was not the case.
Among several talking points, including revealing that he would not be rejoining the ANC, he labelled the EFF, his former party a cult, which garnered an immense reaction from the public.
“Others say don’t rejoin the EFF because it is a cult, ad I agree with them,” he says.
Floyd Shivambu makes it clear he has no intention of returning to the ANC or the EFF.
“The ANC is directionless, doesn’t know what it’s doing, and is in collaboration with the white system. And the EFF is a cult.”#FloydShivambu #Shivambu pic.twitter.com/uHpnIwHZNg

This clip and statement by Floyd have garnered some attention and have gotten the public talking and asking questions. On one side, there are loyal members of the EFF, who have come out to defend their political party, labelling Floyd as all kinds of things, including a traitor.
On the other hand, some question why he has opted to speak out now, after b enefitiing for approximately a decade from the EFF.
Surprisingly, others have expressed they they agree with Floyd’s sentiments, including his opinion on Jacob Zuma’s leadership in the MKP, as well as the ANC’s interests and values.
Floyd Shivambu speaks an inconvenient truth:
1. The MK Party is a family trust.
2. The EFF is a personality cult.
3. The ANC is the long hand of white monopoly capital. To remain within these formations is not strategic patience — it is ideological treason.

If it is true that the EFF is a cult.
Then Floyd shivambu is a fool. Why did it take him 10 years to see that the EFF is a cult? The thinking tank is not tankering pic.twitter.com/2C0dab0AQX

Now i really believe that Floyd Shivambu and Julius Malema are no longer friends. The man literally called EFF a cult 🤣. He is not wrong, but i never expected that from him because some of us kept telling him that Malema is running a family business and he refused to listen.
