It might just be a matter of time before the world witnesses yet another Kolisi representing the green and gold colours of the Springboks.
Nicholas, son of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and his ex-wife Rachel, has shown that he might have what it takes to take his love for sport to the next level with the possibility of continuous mentorship from his father Siya and uncles Eben Etzebeth and Cheslin Kolbe.
This past weekend, Siya returned to Cape Town, where preparations began with a Springbok alignment camp ahead of the international season. While in the Mother City, he also showed his support to his son by attending a rugby game between Bishops Diocesan College and Durbanville Primary, in Rondebosch.
Taking to Instagram, the father of two shared a gallery of posts which showed him proudly embracing his eldest, after the final whistle. The Kolisi DNA appears to be built for the gentleman’s game. Nick, follows in the footsteps of his father by playing in the loose-forward position while looking perfectly comfortable playing in both the scrum and line-out.
There are also signs of him assuming a leadership role, as he makes his voice heard during the calling of line-outs.

This was not the first time Siya shared his son’s progress on the sports field. In 2023, young Nick joined Racing92’s junior team after his father signed with the French club’s senior side following the World Cup.

Those in the comment section have since praised Siya for being a supportive and present father in his children’s lives.
“Through it all…present fathers,” wrote one user, while another commented, “Keep showing up, captain”.
Last week, Nick found himself on the field with the son of another rugby legend, Schalk Burger. Schalk’s son Nichol plays for SACs. The picture of the two went viral.
