Midrand club spoils Chiefs fans with free liquor

by Sergio Miller

Following the success of what may have been a nail-biting season for fans of the renowned Soweto-based football club Kaizer Chiefs, there seems to be a sigh of relief coming from the footballing community.

This comes after the team, best known as AmaKhosi, ended their decade-long drought by walking away with the Nedbank Cup trophy after showcasing an excellent display of football on Saturday.

While the on-field memories will forever linger in the memories of those to witnessed the moment live. Those watching from the television screens were in for a treat as well.

This comes after a nightclub in Midrand, D48, decided to spoil Kaizer Chiefs fans with free alcohol after their team won the game.

The deal was made by the club ahead of the match kick-off when the club noted that patrons would be refunded the bill for drinks placed during the first half of the match. After the final whistle was blown, they managed to remain true to their promise.

Waitresses were later spotted walking around the premises re-imbursing the loyal Kaizer Chiefs supporters who appear to have been more than happy to be compensated for their immense love for their club.

“Have faith in Kaizer Chiefs, we said, and ya’ll thought we were joking …. let the celebrations continue.”

Impressed by their gesture, those in the comment section were more than surprised that they kept their end of the agreement.
