‘The dream is now weeks away’ – Siv Ngesi launches sanitary pads

by Sergio Miller

After years of advocating for menstrual health and hygiene, actor, comedian and gender-based activist Siv Ngesi has taken the first step to becoming the change he wishes to see, as he launched his very own sanitary pad factory.

Taking to Instagram, the charismatic media personality shared the news with the rest of his followers.

“For the last 10 years I have had a dream to open a sanitary pad factory, to produce my own very affordable and high-quality sanitary pads! The dream is now weeks away from coming true(period) #nevergiveup,” he wrote.

The post further contained a video in which Siv gives followers a tour of the factory, which is currently still being renovated.

The unveiling of this news has been one he has been considering for a while now. Last year, he took to social media, highlighting that he has always wanted to create his own range of affordable, high-quality, and locally made sanitary pads.

At the time, Siv, who is also the co-founder of the Menstruation Foundation, added that after testing sanitary pads from all over the world while in China, he never thought that the journey would be so exciting.

Meanwhile, he later promised that a factory would soon make its way to South Africa.

Since sharing the recent venture, many have taken to the comments, commending him for being at the forefront of change.

“You’re doing work that’s just out of this world. You’re doing it, not saying it. Bless you, brother,” commented one user.
