DJ, reality TV star, and former sangoma Tumi Motsoeneng, popularly known as Gogo Skhotheni, solidified her place in Christianity with a baptism on her 33rd birthday.

Gogo Skhotheni, who recently ditched the ubungoma practice, took her shot at fame with her popular reality show, Gogo Skhotheni, where she revealed her daily life and how she goes about her practice.

She shocked many when she shared that she is hanging up her gloves as a sangoma and will become a full-time church member. The podcaster has led a few prayer sessions at church, proving that she is taking a few steps towards God’s glory.

Recently, Gogo Skhotheni took to her Instagram in a now-deleted post and shared a clip of herself being baptised in the river. In the caption of her post, she described her baptism as a turning point.

“Today marks the most sacred turning point of my life, and it’s no coincidence that it happened on my birthday- 05/05/25. I once walked a path deeply rooted in ancestral calling as a sangoma, seeking truth and healing the only way I knew. But in the quiet cries of my soul, Jesus found me. He called me out of the shadows and into His marvellous light.

“I have laid down the bones, the beads, and the burdens- and in return, I have received grace, peace and eternal life. Through baptism, I have died to my old self and risen with Christ. This is not just a new chapter- it is a whole new life. I am no longer who I was. On the very day I was born into this world, I have now been born again in spirit. Reborn, redeemed and restored by the blood of Jesus. To him be all the glory,” she penned.
