Legendary singer, Lusanda Mcinga’s management refuted claims that the Lusanda Spiritual Group founder is bedridden, and confirmed that she still performs despite her being ill.

This is after numerous reports suggested that Lusanda is always in bed after she opened up about her health issues.

Lusanda’s management, Sinalo Mcinga said to The Citizen that the Bathi Bayamazi hitmaker is not in perfect health. However, she still performs.

“The headline was misleading, and it is not true that Dr Lusanda Mcinga is bedridden. Yes, I can confirm that she is suffering from back and waist pain, and she can’t stand for long periods of time.

“Even though bookings are not as frequent as before, she is still available and continues to take bookings. The only difference is that she now performs while seated,” said Sinalo.

Detailing her illness to Daily Sun earlier, Lusanda said: “I’m not okay. I have pain in my back, waist and neck. My back has about four or five bones with no cartilage. They need to operate on. Two discs need to be repaired in my neck. The only thing that’s okay is my voice. It’s not impacted. I still go where I’m booked. The difference is I sit down, I can’t sing while standing.”

The 61-year-old also revealed to the publication that she lives on painkillers to numb the pain, and they make her sleep. However, when she wakes up, she needs to take another pill because the pain comes back.

Lusanda is currently working on the remake of Sobonana Emathuneni which has taken TikTok by storm, with over 60,000 posts created using the sound.
