With the decision of Miss South Africa to tone down restrictions of entering the pageant, it seems like the iconic beauty pageant has attracted popularity with known figures submitting entries.

Among them is actress and singer, Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku who recently shared her audition video on social media. She has showcased her acting prowess on Outlaws, Red Ink, Umjolo: My Beginnings, My End and Umjolo: The Gone Girl among others.

Recently, she wishes to show South Africa that she has a passion to drive social change through arts and culture in one of mzansi’s biggest and influential platforms.

Nirvana took to her X (formerly Twitter) to share a clip of her audition, where she said in her caption: “A new day is emerging for South Africa, where our nation builds again. Marked by transformative changes in Sports, Arts & Culture. These sectors will evolve to benefit all stakeholders, while humanities like philosophy, indigenous healing, and contemporary modalities will be made accessible, contextual, and safe through Sports, Arts & Culture.”

The thespian said in her audition video: “I propose that the sectors of sports, arts and culture as well as other humanities, collaborate to create a new brand of nation building . One that is rooted in consent education, equity design as well as cultural preservation. But we can’t do this when the structures of these sectors remain a reflection of the unregulated and exclusionary past. Sports, arts and culture are the heart of social change and evolution.”
