Actress and media personality Khanyi Mbau has caused quite a rave on social media after they got another glimpse of her ‘new face’ after revealing that she went under the knife last October.

Khanyi is one of the few personalities in South Africa’s entertainment industry who have made a name for themselves by being authentically and unapologetically herself and has grown to become one of the more favoured and controversial celebrities to come out of mzansi’s showbiz. She has also made a name for herself through her openness and honesty, as she has shared her journey with plastic surgery with the public over the years.

October 2024 saw the actress making headlines after she took to her social media to reveal the aftereffects of her blepharoplasty surgery, which involves fixing sagging eyelids and wrinkles around her eyes. She told the public that she was looking for a more permanent solution to a structured face, as botox and fillers were not cutting it anymore.

Recently, Netflix hosted a premiere for their highly anticipated film Meet the Khumalos, which boasts a star-studded cast which includes personalities such as Ayanda Borotho, Bonga Dlamini and Jesse Sentele. As expected, Khanyi was in attendance, as one of the main characters of the film and as always, the actress left users with much to talk about as her ‘new’ face quickly became the talk of the town.

Social media users have expressed shock and concern for the prominent figure, as they question whether the cosmetic surgeries have reached an excessive level as far as she is concerned.

I’m convinced loving and doing unnecessary plastic surgery is a sign of a mental health issue

Others have come to Khanyi’s defence and highlighted how they think she looks beautiful and has reached her goal to look younger than she is.
