Social media users have rallied behind their favourite media personality to make it known that no Bonang Matheba slander will be tolerated, as the masses were quick to nitpick her media from the Brutal Fruit Pink Table.

Bonang Matheba might just be South Africa’s ‘It girl’ as her fans quickly came together as a united front to clap back at anyone who had any sideways comment about their favourite media personality. Recently, popular alcoholic brand Brutal Fruit hosted its highly anticipated Pink Table event, where Queen B played MC to some of the country’s biggest names as far as lifestyle content and entertainment is concerned.

The event proved to be a success, as the brand achieved its goal to bring women together in an empowering atmosphere, where uplifting and encouraging conversations were had between attendees. However, the reaction on social media did not reflect the empowering and motivational nature of the event, as social media users were quick to point out how the MC was starting to show signs of ageing.

Carefully dissecting any media where Bonang makes an appearance in the event, these users highlight Bonang’s imperfections and place the blame on the fact that she is ageing not so gracefully. Some users even went to the extent of comparing the House of BNG owner to Kuli Roberts, who also faced similar criticism from the public.

She loooks old and terrible.

However, quickly coming to her defence, Bonang’s loyal supporters quieted these users down, as they highlighted the dangers of perpetuating problematic beauty standards on to notable names. Furthermore, Bonang’s supporters emphasised the fact that the media personality looks exactly her age and highlighted the fact that having wrinkles and other ‘imperfections’ is normal, rather than people wearing make-up or going through surgeries to achieve the ‘perfect look’.

Saw a post of people dragging xoli for her surgeries and now the same people are dragging B for aging naturally ? this why it’s important to just focus on yourself because if waya ka batho utlo nyela

The weirdos pointing out that Bonang is getting old. As if they don’t know that we’re all ageing with time. Haish. The hate isn’t cute. Let it go. Heal.

Y’all being shocked by Bonang’s face like she owes you youth. Be serious, she’s not 22, and it shows in the best way. ?
