Top eight finalist Big Brother Mzansi contender, Abongile ‘Abobo’ Salli may have come across as a familiar face when he was introduced as one of the housemates to mzansi.

It may have been also because of the role he portrayed among others on Inkululeko, where he starred as Buhle alongside Aphiwe Mkefe and Bongile Mantsai.

The Cape Town thespian who is now a teacher is also popular for the commercials he has done with Dial Direct, Toyota and Edgars.

Recently, Abobo conversed with BONA to unpack his emotions while he was in the house and his life after leaving Big Brother Mzansi.

The 30-year-old from Khayelitsha described his time in the house as a rollercoaster of emotions.

“It was both exciting and saddening at the same because I never thought I would experience so many emotions- so it is a rollercoaster of emotions. However, it was a great platform for me to expose my talent, and I hoped that there would be someone who would be watching and who would believe in me.

“Acting is my life, that is what I’m passionate about. I’m more dominant on commercials now, I recently did a cameo role for a BBC documentary, and I have done UK commercials. Hopefully, I will get more acting roles in South Africa as well,” he said.

When he was asked by BONA who he thinks will take the money, he said he is rooting for Uyanda Hlangabezo to win the grand prize amid all the controversy in the house.

As much as Abobo said he connected with former housemate, Amanda Mkhize who is as popular as Mandy Hagen and Uyanda who is still vying for the grand prize and would gladly take the friendship beyond the house, he stated that he does not condone how Uyanda approached Karabo Sejojo, better known as Jojo.

“I don’t condone what he did, but I’m glad that they ironed things out. I spoke to Uyanda as a brother that he should not do things like that, but I don’t know what they have discussed,” Abobo said.
