Former Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat missing in action amid facing financial setbacks

It appears that President Cyril Ramaphosa’s economy has spared no one as it has been revealed that former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns superstar Khama Billiat is currently facing some financial woes.

Before Mamelodi Sundowns built its superteam that is currently dominating South African football, they had Khama Billiat, who quickly became an integral part of Masandawana’s system alongside Leonardo Castro and Keagan Dolly. Khama Billiat established himself as one of the standout players in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and went on to win three league titles.

His impressive abilities led to his acquisition at Kaizer Chiefs, where he looked to apply his skillset and winning mentality to the club. However, this chapter did not reach the heights of his glory days at Mamelodi Sundowns due to being characterised by inconsistent performances and injuries.  This led to his messy departure from the club, where the club could not contact him to discuss the possibility of striking a new deal when his contract expired in 2023.

In the present day, it is reported that the Scotland FC player is facing some financial woes as he allegedly defaulted on paying his monthly installments. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the former PSL star’s Midrand house is set to be auctioned off to settle the home loan debt that he owes to Standard Bank.

What seems to be the most interesting part of this unfortunate situation is that multiple efforts to serve him with a summons by the High Court sheriff have proved unsuccessful as the player no longer resides in South Africa. Furthermore, despite these challenges, this has not seemed to affect his current lifestyle as his social media is riddled with him showing off his designer clothes and cars.
