The new generation of the iconic Renault Duster has officially made its way to South African shores.
As life evolves so does technology and innovation, and the manufacturers of the new Renault Duster have certainly capitalised on this as they officially unveiled the launch of the third generation of a car that is not a stranger to the local consumer market.
While the car has done away with the familiar diesel option, it now boasts three variants in the form of two turbo petrol options, as well as one with mild hybrid technology.
Their prices meanwhile range between R489 999 and R549 999 depending on one’s preference.
Additionally, the SUV’s design features a noticeable facelift and luxurious aesthetics that capture the full essence of where the brand intends to go.
The 4-wheel drive SUV boasts a muscular and modern design along with a tough stance. Added features include Y-shaped LED lights as well as a renewed “Renault” logo which spans across the landscape of the grill.
Sharing more about the story behind the latest facelift was David Durand, Design Director, who explained, “We began by refining the proportions to achieve a strong, balanced stance. Getting the proportions right early on eliminates the need for superficial styling tweaks later.”
After taking the European market by storm in 2022 by ranking as the continent’s best-selling SUV across all segments in the retail market, the company believes that the latest addition to the dynasty continues to deliver on the foundation laid by previous models.
“It embodies everything the Duster brand stands for: Robust, Practical, and Eco-Savvy,” they highlighted in a statement.
“Built on the CMF-8 platform, it brings modernised styling, improved technology, and more efficient powertrains while maintaining the Duster’s rugged appeal.”
Meanwhile, the vehicle has a whole range of safety features as well as a 4WD monitor to provide motorists with assistance through some of the toughest terrains.
This SUV comes in colours such as Sandstone Beige, Terracotta Brown, Cedar Green, Glacier White, Dusty Grey, Mercury Silver and Pearl Black.
