With each day passing, a new version of Sobonan’ Emathuneni by Lusanda Spiritual Group comes to light. One may wonder why a song that was released in 2001 is suddenly a hit again.

The light was shone on the song by an emerging singer, Sandisiwe Mathamo who recorded the song and added his own flare to it. The song became popular on TikTok with users using the song in situations that they presume could lead to death, as the song title translates to: We will see each other in the graveyard.

Recently, a duo that calls themselves @flowfinesse on TikTok came up with a new remix for this iconic song. This time, the pair changed it to hip-hop and a Sesotho song in another video. The two guys are known to remix songs in the app, without changing their meaning and messages.

This time they shocked many with their catchy introduction in the song ‘Grrr bow’ and by incorporating their rap style, where they turn bible verses into hip-hop bars. Most TikTok users are entertained by this new song and are learning the new terms used, for example, God is ‘Browdy’ and demons are ‘opps’.

TikTok users shared their views on the following clips:

One user asked: “‘To my opps’ usho amademoni (you mean demons)?

Another one said: “Us at funerals in 2050, because we don’t know the funeral songs.”

While another one said: “Oh this app is an amazing place. I don’t think Mam Lusanda had this evolution in mind.”
