Popular media personality Somizi Mhlongo has found himself at the centre of controversy after East London businessman Mabjessie ‘Man B’ Tyekana called him out for failing to honour his booking.

The streets of social media are currently in a frenzy as bystanders look on in the matter between former Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo and East London businessman and promoter who is affectionately known as Man B. The matter has quickly garnered some attention after a frustrated Man B took his grievances to social media, and has gone as far as threatening the celebrity with violence.

In the now-trending video, Man B shares his account of what transpired between him and the television presenter that resulted in matters going south. According to Man B, who has publicly denounced Somizi, the source of his frustration stems from the fact that after paying for his flights as well as a deposit for his ‘performance’, he was shocked to find out that he would be attending a different event in East London, as opposed to attending and MCing Man B’s highly anticipated event. This left Man B feeling as though Somizi had scammed him and used him to get to East London, knowing that he would be attending a different booking.

Furthermore, he reveals that this is not the first time Somizi has displayed questionable behaviour, revealing that it has been a common occurrence for Eastern Cape event organisers and promoters.

Bringing in his perspective, Somizi then took to his social media to clear the air and bring the full picture of what actually transpired on this faithful day, revealing the grievances he had with the popular businessman. According to Somizi, Man B paid for his and his team’s flight as per the agreement, however, failed to honour paying for their transport, as well as their accommodation, as they experienced some issues upon arrival at the hotel.

What appears to be the biggest source of conflict has to do with posting on social media, as Somizi reveals that Man B called him out for posting about attending an event at a venue called Azuru, as opposed to Man B’s event. However, Somizi clears this up by revealing that promoting the event requires an extra fee, which Man B did not pay.

Somizi justified his actions by placing blame on the event organisers, labelling their event as disorganised and chaotic. According to the celebrity, his sentiments are echoed by many others who attended the event as they also deemed it a bust.

It appears the matter is far from over as mzansi continues to weigh in on the matter. Currently, the nation is split and cannot conclude who is right and who is wrong in this whole ordeal.

I get Som Som… You can’t be paying for your accomodation in the first place .. Some would also want the technical ryders as it should be.
