DIY self care: Create your own spa vibe at home

Who says you need a fancy spa day to feel pampered? With a little creativity (and maybe a do-not-disturb sign), you can turn your home into a relaxation haven that rivals the real deal. Think candlelit baths, soothing playlists, DIY face masks, and fluffy robes that make you feel like royalty.

Whether you’re de-stressing after a long week or just in need of a little me time, creating your own spa vibe at home is the self-care hack you didn’t know you needed—no appointment necessary.

The Inspired Room website shares their tips for creating a relaxing home environment. They use a black velvet letterboard to remind them to relax and set aside stress. They also mention a beautiful indoor cafe with natural elements, such as koi fish ponds.

They suggest surrounding yourself with plants, textures, flowers, or art with natural scenes. They also mention designing their own spa ambience, choosing colours that make them feel most at home and rejuvenated. Overall, these tips help create a more relaxing and rejuvenating home environment.

According to House Beautiful, candles are a significant part of the spa experience, not only for their scents but also for changing the room’s lighting. Therefore you can light them in your home in the middle of the afternoon for a holistic experience. It is stated that you can also try sound bath healing, a popular practice in spas, that involves clients lying down on a mat as an expert plays instruments like a Tibetan singing bowl, drums, or shakers.

“Fortunately, you can find a handful of videos on YouTube like the one below to help you virtually experience a sound bath. We suggest laying down on a yoga mat, your bed, or sitting cross-legged in a safe and quiet place as you immerse yourself in the soothing chimes.”

The Aery website suggests that before your spa session, ensure you have the necessary supplies, including a cosy bathrobe, slippers, fluffy towels, luxurious products like bath salts, hand and body wash, and skincare products like face masks and exfoliants.
