Terry Myataza is a man on a mission. Based in Gqeberha, he wears many hats – a  devoted Christian, businessman, radio and TV personality, and philanthropist.

As the founder of Terry Myataza Foundation (TMF), he aims to help serve and work by empowering communities, strengthening civil society and promote social change with the help of their local citizens.

Through initiatives like soup kitchens and kids’ fun days, TMF is making a real difference where it matters most. “Our main goal is to uplift people and bridge a gap in the economy. Our fight is not against humanity but against poverty,” he said.

In conversation with BONA, the philanthropist shared that he has always been a business-minded individual who only needed a way to the right direction, “However, my God never forsaken me as he has been my firm foundation.”

Terry also runs a Terry’s Hiring Service and Terry’s Driving School where he currently has over 10 employees and recently opened up his office. “We have helped so many and changed so many lives with all of my businesses,” he added.

He shared that he is grateful to the Lord for blessing him with clientele and people who trust their services because his businesses have been doing well.

When asked what one thing he wished he had known before, he answered by saying that it was the importance of how to deal with pressure, “Sometimes doing a lot of things strain you and suffocate you. However, the world does not stop moving just because you are tired. So even at your worst day, you need to get up cause people depend on you.”

Continuing by advising upcoming business owners, he says that if you want to venture into business, you should try to take short courses in business first. He explained that this would help people learn certain things within that specific business field, “In that way, it puts you at an advantage so you can know and be ready to face the world with your business idea. In order for it to do great, you need good business traits, risk-taking decisions, prayer and marketing.”

In closing, he expressed that people should always get out of their comfort zone and do what they love, “You will never work a single day in your life.”
