20-year-old Orlando Pirates middlefield sensation Mohau Nkota’s hard work and determination are starting to pay dividends as the youngster is named the next South African athlete to bag a Nike sponsorship.

Congratulations are in order for Mohau Nota as he celebrates becoming the latest addition to the Nike family. He inked a five-year endorsement deal allowing him to become the first male South African player to debut the new Nike Phantom Luna Elite boot, joining Banyana Banyana superstars Thembi Kgatlana and Linda Motlhalo as the only other players to don the exclusive shoe.

Taking to his Instagram, the youngster confirmed the news with a simple but effective caption: “I just did it ?✅,” it reads.

Mohau’s performances during the Betway Premiership, DSTV Diski Challenge and the CAF Champion’s League have proven that he was built for the big moments as he has stood the test of the bright lights of these stages, proving that this achievement is greatly deserved. He joins the likes of Linda Buthelezi, Sizwe Motaung, Lucas Radebe and Benni McCarthy as some of the notable names to have previously been sponsored by Nike. It is important to note that this is no easy feat as major brands such as Nike often select players that they feel will represent their brand in a way that aligns with their vision.

Messages of celebration and congratulations have continued to pour in for the young player, as supporters express immense joy for him. Others have commended his club Orlando Pirates for the platform that they provide for their players to be noticed by such brands.

Congratulations on the Youngman endorsement. Great work guys such deals are not easy to negotiate because of other brands association with the players employer. Well done ?

This is exactly what I was referring to in the Football Space. Orlando Pirates is an institution that gives you a platform, what you do with it is entirely up to you as a player. Building superstars one season at a time! ??‍☠️? https://t.co/cPiHNPgYmG
