Recently, disturbing videos that have sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability have been circulating on social media, showing disproportionate abuse directed at black men at Zanzou nightclub in Pretoria.

The committee’s chairperson, Xola Nqola, expressed concern over the alleged incident and criticized Zanzou’s management for not laying charges when they first became aware of the incident.

With this information out, the alleged former Zanzou bouncer responsible for leaking the videos recently leaked one where he mentioned that many individuals who worked at the nightclub know about what has been happening there, they are just scared to speak out.

The bouncer mentioned that the owners were highly intelligent and dangerous, and urged the South African government for protection and safety because his life was in danger.

X (previously Twitter) users who have been following the story since it broke shared views on how he could be protected.

One user said he needs to be protected by the private sector because SA police cannot be trusted.

We need private sector to protect the guy copes will sell him to the dogs they can’t be trusted many died under that witness protection program

Other users advised him to go back home because he would be safer there than in SA.

The way SA is corrupt the police will even sell you out for a cold drink uzonya better go home

The government is going to be your demise ,contrary to your wishes & believe sir… run back to Goma.

Zanzou’s management has claimed that the videos are old and were an extortion attempt by one of their security personnel. However, this explanation has been met with scepticism, and many are demanding a full investigation into the incident.

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has also condemned the alleged acts of violence, torture, and dehumanisation at Zanzou nightclub, calling for swift action to be taken against those responsible.

In response to the incident, the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Constitutional Development has called for the arrest of the owners of Zanzou nightclub, citing the need for accountability.
